Default Why is my PFR so low?

I have 7,000 hands in my PT database (I know, a pretty small number, but should be enough to give a rough idea of where I'm at) and my PFR sits at 6.6%. I follow the SSH tight chart pretty religiously.

My PFR has been going up slightly since I've started trying to steal blinds lately (when first to act in late position, raising instead of calling), but over the past 3,000 hands it's only at about 8%. From what I understand most people on this board recommend 10-12%.

What else am I missing, or am I just not getting as many raise-worthy hands as I should be? Feel free to flame me for my small sample size if that's all you think it is.

Thanks,
Joe

aim for 8-9. 10-12 is a bit high unless you are comfortable postflop.

someone have a link to that one topic that always gets linked for PFR questions?

8 suits me just fine at full ring. I'm not comfortable going too much higher. Certainly not 10-12. 8 is fine as long as it's within your comfort level.

10-12 I'd think is more applicable in 6-max (this coming from someone who has never played 6-max)

Great link.

Looks like I may not be raising enough hands with one or two limpers in late position (thinks like KTo and 88). Agree?

Yeah. Isolation raises and value raises are how you get your pfr% over 8%.

Think isolation raises. Hands that you would love to play HU against a weak limper. The hands have some solid highcard strength or are pairs 7+.

Raising against two limpers is a bit trickier and you typically need a stronger hand from the button than for an isolation raise which you can do with a wide range of hands from the button. However you will see a wider range of hands being raised against two or more limpers from the CO because it can buy you the button.
