Over betting the pot.
I see this alot lately. The pusher is a good respected player. Is there any point in over betting like that? Sure, if you do this with made hands yada yada, but in an online tourny, with 900 players left and an unknown villian who probably don't know you, aren't you risking way too much?
Is this a valid strategy? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx MP1 (t5025) MP2 (t14481) MP3 (t7794) CO (t9450) Button (t6580) SB (t5040) Hero (t17110) UTG (t20590) UTG+1 (t3450) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 4 folds, MP3 raises to t450, 1 fold, Button calls t450, 2 folds. Flop: (t1125) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) MP3 bets t7344 (All-In), Button calls t6130 (All-In). Turn: (t14599) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 2 all-in) River: (t14599) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 2 all-in) Final Pot: t14599 How do you act against such a push? What's your range of calling here? As I said, villian is a good, known, laggy player. |
