You don't think he maybe got a bit excited w/KQ or even KJ? I think you have to call this down.

I think you have to call this down.

If you don't call down when you improve on the turn, why not just check fold the flop?

There is a guy c/ring into the pf raiser (me), and there also is a guy who cold-called the c/r. How often does one of these guys not have a 4?

I think it's often enough that you need to call this down.

You will be shown a lot of hands here - like small pockets and certainly worse kings than yours.

You will also be shown the occasional 4, and some stone cold bluffs.

If you have no read on this guy yet, I can't think of a much better time to look him up.

If I am HU, I do it, but doesn't the presence of the cold-caller deter you a bit?

No.

If it costs me an extra bet to show people that when I raise, I mean it, then that's what I'll do.

I find that these bets come back with interest when people stop trying to push you off your hands with every scare card that comes along. You end up paying much less to see the rest of your hands through to the end.

At least that's how it's been working for me.
