I doubt Daniel is risking as dollar. Steve wynn is supplying the money for the publicity. Daniel probably has some kind of deal like if he wins he getsa a piece and if he loses its on Steve. Just a guess but probably something like that. Yet Daniel calls out David and Mason trying to say there chickens. While he is not risking his own money. Whose the real chicken? He talks big with Steve Wynn's money lol.

[/ QUOTE ]

Daniel has said time and time again that the money is coming from his BR and I believe him. While he probably is a slight dogg in these contests since his opponent gets to pick the game, I'm sure there is some incentive that he gets that will balance out these matches EV-wise.

I haven't heard him say all the money he is risking is his own. I have always heard him say he's not allowed to discuss his wynn business. If he is risking his own money he is out of his mind. I don't think even Daniel is that stupid. To risk a 4.5 million dollar bankroll to play an unlimited number of 500k freezouts is crazy. Even the best in the world could have a fluctuation and lose 9 straight. If he is risking all his own money i think you are right about him getting money on the back end somehow from wynn. It would be nice to heaer the whole story from Daniel. But he chooses to call everybody chicken but yet hides behind his secrect dealings where he probably isnt risking as much as you think. Wjhat about he's risking his own bankroll but if he loses a certain amount steve wynn will give all or some of it back to him. We don't know. But i don't think Daniel is dumb enough to blow his bankroll that way. He would blow it in the "big game" 4-8k on his own. But he would do that because he thinks he would be a winner in it and his bankroll goes further in that game than a series of 500k freezeouts. Luckily for him he gets to play at wynn probably with backup as opposed to him having to play the "big game" and losing all his money.

Well he has publicly stated it is his money that he is risking. But he wanted to keep this fact a secret, so he cryptically stated this information under the post title "An Open Challenge" on his own forum so that most people interested or without 3 minutes to spare couldn't find it.

All of the money I am risking is my own. Ok, so now you have :-)

Aside from selling 10% of my action to some friends against both Mimi and Barry, I put up every single dollar on my own.

As for Wynn, they neither asked me to do this or even expect me to do this. I don't have to play ANY of these challenges as far as my contract is concerned. I did it because I wanted to and it was 100% solely my idea.

Actually these guys are the trolls. They just don't like when there is a poster that doesn't kiss all the famous poker players butts.

Do you believe him or not? If he's getting some incentive that balances out the Ev, then to say it's his BR at risk is at best a half-truth.

I do believe him. Daniel has always been forthcoming in his blogs so I'm going to have to continue to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, since Daniel is a smart guy I know he's done a lot of planning and thinking about what his expected value on these matches are going to be. It is pretty obvious that he is going to be a slight dogg against any specialist because not many people are going to risk that much money on a coinflip or especially not when they are a dogg. So expect Daniel to be getting some sort of stipend that balances out the EV. This really isn't a half truth. Under this scenario he is risking the money from his BR, but to make these propositions profitable he has to be getting some sort of outside contributions.
