Default Raising with maybe the best hand, maybe a bluff

5/10 6-handed.
TAG limps in CO. TAG button raises. Insane SB calls. SB is passive preflop, but aggressive at random times postflop and does some crazy things. He is crazy vs everyone but me because I have repeatedly beat him.

I call in the BB with As 9h

Flop is Qs 2d Qc
checked around

Turn Qd
SB bets, I raise.

Standard?

Do you have a read on the TAG button which indicates whether he would fold AK, AJ, or AT here? If so, I really like it.

What's your plan if you're 3-bet by one of the TAGs?

I think he would be hard pressed to call with ace high here.

3-bet = turbo muck.

I like it. I think most times you have the best hand...I also think that most times you buy the pot right here. Were you trying for a flop c/r?

i think there is room for discussion about 3betting preflop if you think your 3bet will eliminate the limping tag, which it probably will. 3betting also goes up in value if the button tag is isolating the limper with a wide range of hands, which he probably is as well.

i think checkfolding postflop is very weak. you could easily be ahead of the button. id rather donkbet this than checkfold.

the turn raise makes sense, but calling is just better i think. the only player that might have you beat at this point is the CO (unless BT is slowplaying a Q) if he happened to openlimp with a small pair or A2s or something. hes not folding either of those hands to a raise anyway. any other hands dont have correct odds to call. point is, you cant fold better hands.

if you feel confident that the SB wont play back at you with a weaker hand then i like the raise, but just because hes been conservative against you in the past i wouldnt put it past him to make a 3bet bluff against you since he does it to other players. he might also 3bet 2X when youre drawing to 6 live outs.

3-betting PF is out of the question in my mind. I really don't like playing weak dominated hands OOP against 2, possibly 3 players in big pots. People don't like to fold in big pots.

Yes, I could be ahead, but it'll probably cost me a fair bit to find out. The most likely scenario is that everyone will call my flop bet.

I can fold better hands. Better aces are folding and some pairs might fold too. If you had 33 in the CO, are you calling 2?
