Assuming the entire routing and account number are legible, some banks will do it.

If you know a business owner that sends a daily deposit to a bank, ask him if he will cash it for you and sign it over to him. Banks usually except checks through daily business banking deposits that they probably wouldn't otherwise.

I've had fleet/bank of America take checks that were torn or water damaged, or even ones with a discrepancy between the writen dollar amount and the amount in the $___ box.
