easy call VS maniac?
A little history on the big vill...been here for about 3 orbits...he semi frequently makes big overbets...against anyone else it would be an easy lay down for me but...i don't know..the reason i was thinking about a call was this hand against the same villian on his first orbit.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) converter MP2 ($13.92) MP3 ($8.25) CO ($119.55) Button ($52.75) SB ($98.4) Hero ($146) UTG ($50.65) UTG+1 ($48.75) MP1 ($41.95) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. UTG calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls $0.50, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($2.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> convertors crap - i bet pot, he min raises, i raise to 15, he raises 25, i push. Turn: ($2.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> River: ($2.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> Final Pot: $2.50 Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF"> Hero has Qc 2s (full house, twos full of queens). UTG doesn't show. MP2 doesn't show. Button has 9c Jd (two pair, nines and twos). SB doesn't show. Outcome: Hero wins $2.50. </font> so clearly he's a little nuts..but here's the hand i'm confused about.. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (8 handed) converter MP2 ($27.3) CO ($40.45) Button ($111.05) SB ($120.8) BB ($94.15) Hero ($130.6) UTG+1 ($49.5) MP1 ($38.45) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Turn: ($70) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">SB bets $90</font>, hero ? do you think i should wait for a better spot or did i just pass up some easy money?...not used to dealing with maniacs. |

Re: easy call VS maniac?
Hand 2: Hard to say for sure if you passed up money. I would call, for the obvious reasons. But thats me, I tend to be on the side of..."this makes no sense, why would he do this with the ace here".
My type of thinking gets me into alot of trouble though. We have to remember that we are playing against people who dont think. So they do things that are irrational and make no sense. But given the villain's previous j9 b.s., I wouldn't be laying this down. Thats just me though, and I am in quite a slump lately. |
