raise to 125.
if he pushes, call.
if he calls, push turn.
if he fold, take the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

I raise to 110 or 115 (PSR) but 125 is fine too.

You have the best hand and he is likely drawing so lets put lots of money in the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

A PSR is 165.

Mr Curious,

Why are you sitting w/ $500 in a NL5/10 game?

Because it's his second hand in a $500 capped buy-in game.

$500 NL
Blinds are $5/10
9 Handed

SB is an unknown. I've only been at the table for two hands.

Stacks:
SB $350
Hero $500

Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in MP2

Preflop: UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, Hero raises to $40, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Pot: $90

SB bets $25, Hero ... ?

I took his weak flop bet to be a blocking type bet, where he had either a flush or straight draw and wanted to see the turn cheaply. So...

Hero makes is $100, SB calls

Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Pot: $290

When the turn came as a brick, I thought that betting 1/2 the pot would be big enough to make any straight or flush draw call incorrectly, yet be small enough that a hand like KQ might still pay me off.

SB checks, Hero bets $150, SB raises all-in, Hero calls $60

River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $710

Hero shows AQ for TPTK.
SB shows QJ for two pair.

His flop bet confused me and that's why I was wondering if I should have slowed down and kept the pot small.

Villain played it exactly like a drawing hand on a draw heavy board that blanked on the turn.

You thought you were protecting TPTK, the majority of the time you win this scenario.

Given his stack you played it correctly but lost.
