One thing everyone agrees with is AP is very player friendly in terms of giving back much of what they rake. It's as close to a rakefree site as we have now.

As other sites keep going public and having to answer to shareholders and analysts, they will no doubt find ways to keep increasing the cost of playing poker to it's players.
At least with a site like AP out there, we always have a good option to keep our costs down.

Thankyou AP.

Absolute is probably running at an operating loss. So what? Lots of good startup businesses lose money.

There is one thing you can be absolutely certain about absolute.. it is not running at an operating loss! The margins in this business are huge!

I have been giving quite a bit of my business to them the last few months. In the 7 months I have been a member, I have been personaly contacted twice, each time was unsolicited and a pleasant experience.

Every customer service issue I have had come up has been handled promptly, and if I have been in error the situation was explained in a clear fashion.

In short I love this site. And I hope they are making lots of money.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] AP. They are definitely making a profit so don't worry. Not every player there is a 2+2 rakeback bonus whore. I played there for 8 months no bonus no rb before I got serious.

They are using the bonuses and rb in order to attract the multitablers inorder to bring in the players that will prop their tables.

AP pwns.

Do AP's tables still freeze after about 2hrs of play?

I was always under the impression that they were giving with one hand, and taking with the other, by raking more than most sites?

I'd love to find a site where I can make a living and be treated like a valued customer. Strange concept, but a player can dream.

You don't have to rape the games to make a profit. The party model will die soon enough. I think sites could half rake at a max of 1.5 and make huge money. What are your operating costs compared to a live casino?

So true. Rake is ridiculously high atm. The market needs to self correct itself.

I don't think it will correct itself. Players like us go where the fish are. The fish don't know about the options other than Party and Poker Stars and don't understand how high the rake is. They probably don't even realize how much rake they are paying.

The only way that the market will change is when fish realize these things, and by the time they do they won't be fish anymore.
