River Play with set
Pretty sure I botched this. Is this an easy river value bet? Do I call a raise? Would it make a difference if the river had been the 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]?

Re: River Play with set
I like donking the flop. You didn't do that, go for a check-raise.

Re: River Play with set
I don't like the flop and river plays here. I think your flop play in particular made it much more likely that your opponents would have the chance to draw out on you. I almost never slowplay the flop with a set in a pot that was raised pre-flop.
Flop: I will sometimes bet and sometimes check-raise here. MP will probably bet, which makes me comfortable going for a check-raise. If I don't think someone behind will bet, then I'm leading with a bet. But, what I'm definitely not going to do is check and then call with a set in a pot that was raised pf. Turn: I think it's fine in light of the flop play. River: I am definitely not checking it. I'm betting, and probably making a crying call if raised. |
