Default turn question with 99, 3 bet ok or do I fear the straight?

On the turn, I'd have to be worried about 87, do I not 3-bet because of this concern? or am I ahead here most of the time?

Perfect flop to trap everyone and check-raise the button. Also, the 3-bet on the turn is fine given that MP2 is still in. You don't have to be good here too often to make the 3-bet right since you know you have MP2 crushed and you're still drawing even if behind. If capped, I'm check-calling that river UI.

Edit: I guess since the pot is so big betting this flop is fine.

Nice hand. You've posted a lot of hands in the last little bit. It's customary to only post 2 at once at the very most. Also, you'll learn more from replying to hands than you will by posting them and getting answers spoonfed to you.

You are ahead enough of the time to cap this. Nice river. (you should consider not posting it next time though).

I was hoping that the button had a PP and would raise, I didn't feel like this flop was safe enough to not try and knock people out, 3 suited but still somewhat connected.

Eh, I disagree upon further review. I think you probably should have gone for the c/r. It would be lucrative enough to trap the whole field that it's worth a small risk of it getting checked through. Your equity on this flop is gigantic. You want to build as big a pot as possible.

We're approaching the pot size where it will be difficult to adequately protect our hand, so we need to focus on maximizing value with any equity edge. Fortunately, in this case we have a very large one. I'd rather check-raise the flop here too.

Also, I'm the CO here, with 4 other people in, how certain can I be that the button will bet?

Is it worth the chance of giving a free card here in order to build the pot?

Button 3bet preflop. He bets this flop when checked to about 90% of the time, or more, depending on read.

1) Quite sure. I could go into details about the flop being pretty harmless so he'd bet more, but I honestly just don't think a typical opponent is thinking enough to recognize a situation where he shouldn't CB at this level. If we had a mouse read we might reconsider, but unknowns CB the vast majority of the time here IMO.

2) I'd say so, because the chance of a free card is so slim and the profit from building a pot is pretty big here. Note that the profit is more than the few extra SBs on the flop; with luck we can achieve that 'huge pot' mentality here where the Villains get so mesmerized by the chips going in they chase with their bottom pair despite continued aggression.
