isn't that a little too aggressive with 13BBs, UTG? even if blinds are going up Hero still has 5.5 BBs after posting, surely theres a better spot to push?

No... easyyyyyyy push preflop.

BTW- the way you played it, pushing the flop is fine. I'd do the same, too many cards that can come up to scare you and you'll get called by top pair often to make this a very +EV move.
