Default Encouraging a Maniac

Playing this weekend at the casino. There’s a maniac at the table, Blind raising , live straddling, I am talking every hand every time. When there in, there in for a raise.
While this person is on a blind raise and the action goes to them. I tell them to 3 bet blind [since someone made the raise (or call as it were) first] before the maniac looks at there cards, I have not looked at mine most haven't around the rest of the way. Is this against the rules?
I feel I am encouraging free money to give a little more if they have fun playing every hand I want to encourage this not prevent it. Am I wrong?
Mind you it's a bigger limit game and they just ran down 3 of the better players, one of which got pretty mad at me for telling her to 3 bet.
PS they know I have no Idea who the maniac is so there was no collusion
