Default 5/10: Fold top set?

No real reads on villain. From the 30 or so hands I've seen him play, he seems very loose and kinda nutty. I have been playing a very TAGgish game. Donk call or donk fold?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

MP ($559)
Hero ($1284.50)
SB ($1537)
BB ($707)
UTG ($940.75)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $5.
2 folds, Hero raises to $40, SB (poster) calls $35, 1 fold.

Flop: ($90) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $88, SB calls $88.

Turn: ($266) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $200, SB calls all-in, Hero ???

I'd bet this turn if I knew the villain well. If I knew hes capable of going nuts with a flush draw/ pair+ semi bluff type hand, I'd probably bet and maybe call the push.

As this played out, it's very read dependant, and hard to say without being there-- but I probably call.

You should know you're beat now. Calculate the odds you're getting to fill up and take it from there?

This might be REALLY flawed thinking so someone let me know...

On the turn I'm A. Not really afraid of villain having a 7 and B. Not willing to play a large pot either.

If I have an overpair to the board, or if I have two pair I'll probably bet here. Then if I'm pushed back at I'll fold.

With a set, I like checking here because it allows me to fill up if he's trying to be tricky, and I have a good chance of stacking him. I can also soak up a bet on the river which is (in my opinion) much more likely to be a bluff than a turn check raise is (since you've shown you're "scared" of the turn).

I will also quite often check a 7 in the spot getting ready to make most of the money on the river because people usually don't like calling bets on the turn with a board that scary because they know, 80% of the time it's two bets they're calling, not one. As opposed to the river where they'll call quite often knowing it's only one bet, and some people just need to see your hand once you've gotten than far.

Also, if the river is a dud and it's checked to me, I absolutely bet for value.

What? You win two cents off me and all of a sudden you can just go and shoot me down without any clarification?

WRONG YOU ARE, ROBBIO.
