Why does it make sense for the pros to do this cash game on TV? What are they getting out of it that makes it worthwhile?

lol, they're playing a $300/600NL game with a min $100,000 buy-in and you're wondering why they are playing? Please tell me you're joking.

Why would I be joking? What would your minimum buy-in be for 300/600 NL?

I'm under the assumption that they could get this kind of game on their own, or play their regular 2000/4000 game or whatever they want. What do they gain from the TV exposure?

More so than tournaments, I would think that holecams would give away a lot of information in cash games that those pros really don't want to reveal.
Anyone have an answer? It's not just the draw of the game itself, is it?

The hourly rate was secondary (like 1500/hour). It's the TV exposure ...

Negreanu (and others) probably makes more through endorsements now than he does playing poker, and he only has this opportunity because of exposure like this.

The players were also paid an hourly rate to be part of the show that ended up being about $1250 per hour.
