Default Ocean Jewel 1/2 100 max No Limit now a RAKED game

Just an FYI. As of this past Sunday, the 1/2 NL is no longer a time charge game (was $5 / half hour). It is now a raked game (5% up to $5, I think)

When it was announced, the rest of the table thought it was a great idea. Not I, said the fly.

Funny you should post this today.

I am in St. Pete, and have been trying to find any worthwhile poker at all in this God forsaken area, all without any luck.

Today, I decided to go to the moronic Derby Lane, hoping that the daily tournaments might be worthwhile (even if only being $45 buyins). Walked in, passed all of the racing mopes, up the escalators, passed the big water damage hole in the ceiling, and to the poker room. They spread 1/2 games, nothing else, apparently. I sort of knew that, so I asked about the tourney structure. Nobody seemed to know.

I finally got this guy who explained that there are 20 minute levels, blinds start at 15/25, and they double every time. The field starts with 700 units each.

Back past the water damage, down the escalator, past the mopes, and back to my car.

Now, granted, I was actually going to play no matter what, in the hopes that someone might direct me to the appropriate place for actual poker, but one look around there, and it was clear that nobody knew.

I went to Seminole, but it sucks hard too.

The boat thing sounds better, but they never answer their phone, they keep crashing the ferries, etc.

Please help me, either here or in a PM, PLEASE.

Thanks in advance.

Small steps.

Remember what it was like back in the 90's?

Ocean Jewel is your only hope, unless you want to play high juice tourneys. (Derby or Hard Rock)

Go to their website, the directions are there. Poker room opens at two on the weekends.

There is usually a 3/6 open around opening time. Last time I was there (last Saturday) a $300 no limit game started after about an hour or two.

By late evening, there were 2 3/6 tables, multiple 1/2 NL tables, and one 3/5 NL that upped the buyin from 300 to 500 max.

The shuttle ride is only a half hour or so from their new location.

HOWEVER....it is hot as balls in there, AC is out.

How's the limit action there now? any 10-20 and up ever? Is the boat out 24 hours on weekends now?

Usually only 3/6, though I have managed to get a 5/10 game going a couple of times.

It's almost all NL on the weekend now. Yes, the boat is still out 24 hours on the weekend, but I don't believe the poker room is open 24 hrs.

Your best bet is to email the poker room. They don't have ship to shore phone anymore, but they do check their email.

we started raking the 1-2 game august 1 also we no longer spread 2-5 nl 100-300 buy in it was changed to
5-10 blinds 200-500 buy in.
3-6 is the staple limit game
las night which was sat night, 2 5-10 games 3 or 4 1-2 games and 1 or 2 3-6 games
the boad it open 24 hours fri and sat, but the poker room hours right now are sun-thur 2pm-2am fri sat 2pm-4am its up to the floor if we stay open later on weekends.
the a\c is busted and probably will be until we go to dry dock in october.
the poker room managers email is emoryt@oceanjewel.com
email before you go out to see what games are running.
you can email me if you want oceanjewelpoker1@yahoo.com
but I cant check this email on the boat.
