Default Indians!

AB Hits 2B 3B HR RBI BA OBP SLG OPS
Peralta: 367 112 27 3 20 63 .305 .368 .559 .927
Tejada: 491 153 41 4 22 79 .312 .358 .546 .904
Jeter: 496 151 20 4 14 50 .304 .381 .446 .827

Who would have thought that the 23 year-old Peralta, making $316K would be leading this group. Big reason why Cleveland is on top of the Wild Card standings in mid-August.

And the rest of the top of the order ain't bad either:

G Sizemore CF .292
C Crisp LF .297
J Peralta SS .304
T Hafner DH .314
V Martinez C .278
R Belliard 2B .285

Think they are all offense? How about Relief Pitcher ERA:

Rank Team G IP WHIP K/BB K/9 BAA OPS ERA
1 CLE 121 354.0 1.12 2.63 7.09 .222 .634 2.82

Are we not supposed to mention his 87 strikeouts in those 367 at bats (with only 37 walks).

Do we also ignore his 14 errors?

No, we aren't supposed to mention the 87 strikeouts. And the 37 walks in that many ABs is fine for a young player.

Why would we mention it?

should we investigate how many pop ups and ground outs he has?

also his walk rate is about equal to jeters and better than tejadas.

Actually, 14 errors for an everyday shortstop, especially a young one, isn't too bad either.

The Indians are a very good team. This team keeps getting overlooked for the wild card. Should be a good race.
