Live 4-8 Flopped Set on A High Flop
Here is a hand from a live 4-8 game at Parker's outside Seattle. It garnered a lot of discussion amongst my friends and I am curious about other input. It was played by a friend, not me.
Two limpers to button who raises. Button has shown several loose pre-flop raises (T7s UTG) in the game so far. Hero 3-Bets in SB with TT. First limper says "Let's get stupid" and caps, adding that someone else probably would have. Other limper calls, button calls. 16SB. Flop is AT4, rainbow. Hero bets out, limper 1 calls, limper 2 folds, Button raises. Call or Re-Raise? Plan for the turn? Thanks for any input. KJS |

My plan is usally to smooth call and go for a nasty turn check raise. And pray 'dear lord, bring another ace'

I say, "Lets get stupid" and reraise.
But, then again, I tend to play sets fast and straightforward oop on a drawy board. -d |

Re: Live 4-8 Flopped Set on A High Flop
Jam it.
Jam it through the turn. Be wary if the limpreraise gets involved in the betting. You're going to be betting out on the turn. You'd hate to see this turn get checked and many loose raise guys tighten up a bit on the bigger streets. No reason to slowplay this one at this point. You're not really in good position to do much else. You'd like the opponents to call 1 bet at a time, especially on the turn. b |

Call and lead the turn intending to 3-bet.

That seems like a certain way to leave money on the table. |

Yup, I'm digging the keep going fast arguments here. A lot of it is just hinging on you being oop so it's the best way to get max value. Also anyone who caps with AK saying let's get stupid preflop isn't going to be folding with an ace on board. Go for the gold.
