Casino chip collections
(this is a cross-post from news views gossip)
Just a random thought, does anyone collect a dollar chip from every casino they go to? Just wondering as I have a few and thought it might be cool to have a big diverse pile to look at someday.... |

Re: Casino chip collections
I often like to take a pink, rather than $1, although the last new place I was at, the pinks were baby blue.

Re: Casino chip collections
I have about 150 different 5.00 and 25.00 chips from various places on the East Coast and from Vegas. Only a few 1.00 chips.
One of my good friends in CT has over 1500 different chips. .10 all the way up to obsolete 500.00's |

Re: Casino chip collections
There's a good club for people who like to collect chips.
http://www.ccgtcc.com/ There are a lot of collectors out there. Just check eBay to see how many are being sold. |

Re: Casino chip collections
I keep a $1 or $5 chip from every casino I've won at. I've been to 30 casinos and so far I have 2 chips.
I use the first $5 chip I won in Vegas as a card cap in my home games. I finish down every time I forget to bring it. |

Re: Casino chip collections
I do this, but I have a pretty small collection...right around 60 chips. California, Reno, Tahoe, Vegas + surrounding, and Atlantic City.

Re: Casino chip collections
I've been collecting $5 red chips (primarily) from all the casinos I've visited. For many years I played blackjack, and recently started playing poker.
But I've got 150+ chips from all over the world. They're about 80% Paulsons, but lots of Chipcos and some Bud Jones, and some other types from foreign casinos. For some places that have commemorative chips in addition to their regular chips, I've been a sucker and kept some commems, too. In fact, yesterday I did some "drive by" collecting at 2 casinos in California on the way to a meeting -- just ran in and got a chip cause I didn't have time to play. Not as much fun, but I got some more chips! I put a chip in my pocket when I get my first stack, then take it with me when I leave. If I only kept a chip when I won, I wouldn't have nearly as many (like JerseyNick)! So some of those $5 chips cost me quite a few bucks, but then some of them paid me to take them. But all in all, they're pretty cheap souvenirs. Over the years I've picked up some $1, $2.50, and other small denoms, too. It's a fun collection, and I get to look back and see some cool places I've visited. |
