Default San Diego Question

I'll be in San Diego from Oct 4-7 on Business. Not much time for anything else, but I may have some free time the night of the 6th for some poker.

What's the closest poker room to Coronado?

Sounds like an expensive cab ride.

Default Second Question

How close are any of these to the airport? I have a 6:17 AM flight out on the 7th.

Nothing is close to the airport. Oceans 11 is up in Oceanside where I live, I'd say it's 30 miles up the coast from Coronado. Viejas and Sycuan are probably closer. It's east on Interstate 8. Coronado itself is actually really close to the airport, (within a long jog if there wasn't water in the middle) so playing all-night and trying to get to the airport in the morning will be tough.

Good luck.

I have been to barona and viejas, i would reccomend viejas which is about 1/2 hour from downtown. If you are looking for high stakes though, the highest viejas goes is usually 8/16. I cant remember whether barona had higher or not. Can any of you guys tell me what Sycuan is like? Is it nice, is it fishy, is there a long waitlist, what stakes do they spread for holdem? Thanks.

Hey Kurn, I used to play at foxwoods until I moved out here (SD) in June. Happy to help a fellow 2+2er and East Coaster out.

Oceans 11 is definitely your best bet in terms of game selection. They have everything from 3-6 to 20-40. Plus many games have "overs" so you can play up to 40-80 if it suits you. It's about 30min away from Coronado straight up I-5.

The indian casinos around are all about the same distance and not as much game selection IMO. Probably not worth it.

There's also a bunch of smaller card rooms within SD itself, as well as in Chula Vista. It depends on the limits you're looking for but Village CLub in Chula Vista also has up to 20-40 and is 15min away. Somewhat sketchy but nothing unsafe.

Hope this helps.

Leon

I know that there are busses the transport people from various places to the casinos..
you should contact the casinos.

www.barona.com
www.sycuan.com
www.viejas.com

the little card rooms in Chula Vista, and the lady luck are close, but much smaller and little scary sometimes.
