did this happen to you? i'm actually curious myself...

i was on the SB, making a long story really short...

community was rainbow rags, i show QQ, UTG show KK, CO shows AA...

we laughed a lot, but the loss still sucks...

definately a curious question...

Ya last night on PP 100 max NL that ended in me cashing out my account and not wanting to think about playing again for awhile.

Had this happen to me awhile back in the 3rd or 4th hand of a NL tourney. 1st guy bets 75, 2nd 150, and I decide to raise to 300 from the SB. After a flurry of all-ins, guy #1 shows AA, 2 KK, and my lowly QQ. At least it was a $10 event......

Quick and dirty...

Chances of either hand alone for 1 player: 1/220 or .00455

Rough hances of 1 players of 10 getting AA:
1 - (1-.0045)^10 = .045

Rough hances of 1 of remaing 9 getting KK:
1 - (1-.0045)^9 = .040

1 of remaining 8 gets the QQ = .035

So .045*.040*.035 = .000063 = 15,800 to 1

This is rough since cards aren't independent...I think actual odds a little lower since when someone gets AA, that's 2 cards out of the way for someone to get KK, etc.

Maybe about 12 or 13,00 to 1...

I am not sure what you had, so I will assume that the question should be rephrased as this: If I have QQ, what is the prob that I am up against both KK and AA in a table of 9 players total...Now, if you have QQ, any two of the other 8 players could have this AA vs KK combo...and for any player with the AA, he has 7 other players to tangle with...This leaves 56 possible combinations of 2 players to have the AA vs KK duo....Thus the final answer is 56*(C(4,2)^2)/(C(48,2)*C(50,2)) = .0015. This is underdog odds is
=(1-.0015)/.0015=666:1 odds against this happening...(such bad odds that it has a satanic number associated with it)

If anyone finds an error in my logic, please chime in...

Another interesting question is what my chances are of being up against AA or KK if I go all in with QQ. This is
around 8% or around 11:1 odds...Thus of the times that you pop it with QQ, you will only get killed around 1 in 12 tries....

This happened to me last week on party. In the end it was a split pot with a low straight coming down. I was happy because I held the kings.

if you have QQ you would probably rather be up against both AA and KK because then there's more money in the pot and the only way you're gonna win is if you get a Q anyways. i look at this as being better than just being up against one of them, unless of course you hit a Q, and one of them also hits a set.
