if you consistantly got all in with a 55% favorite, you would be the best tournament player ever.

If you consistantly got all in with a 55% favorite, you're playing to tight.

Advice I kind of like "You have to be willing to loose in order to win"

This is not generalized advice, but rather advice for a long-time SNG player switching to MTTS:

Be more willing to play speculative hands like suited connectors early when it's cheap.

Don't get into a big pot without a big hand.

My advice is that: you probably don't fully understand the advice you have received.

One piece of advice that I don't fully understand is paraphrased from the movie rounders:

"Doyle Brunson once said that the most important thing in NL Holdem was to put a decision to a player for all his chips."
Matt Damon

"The only excuse for being broke is being in jail..."

either that or:
"it's a marathon, not a sprint."
