Default Re: Top pair: facing turn-raise heads ups

It's possible you're looking at a set or flopped two pair but if I had to guess at the results I'd say 9x hearts or a made gutshot str8 at the turn.

Couple reasons he'd raise the turn:

Get you to fold to a scare card.
Hit a monster on the flop.
Thinks you are drawing or otherwise will not have him beat and wants value.

This isn't the first time it's been said on this forum but JK is not a tremendous hand when you only hit a pair. What hands do you put him on that he'd raise with? Which ones do you beat? This depends on your read of him of course, but would he make a move like that with middle pair? With AT or JT? Would he have raised preflop with KQo in MP? With 4 to a flush on the turn? This is all referring to your call at the turn, of course. I think your river check/call is fine.

Oh, and this is the no limit forum

Well, that explains a lot. No wonder people keep posting no-limit hands in here. I was almost going to say something about that.
