Default 88 preflop decision

It's folded to me in MP2. The two guys to my direct left are LPP, the button is TPA and the blinds are TAA.

I raise, anticipating being against one of the LPPs and the BB.

Sound about right?

This is a ridiculously easy raise. Also, time to work on seat selection.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

They ought to have seat-change buttons on empire.

I like this raise, as it's kind of like an isolation play, but doesn't LOOK like an iso-play.

Just so you know, there is no cast of characters you could put in MP3, CO, Button, and the blinds that would make me do anything other than raise this hand when it's folded to me in MP2. 88 is a good hand.

As Entity said, you could have ended your question here. I'd raise this even with mostly loose players left to act.

Hmm...

In that case, can I make a request that someone posts a hand where they open in MP2 with 77-99, get two loose callers plus the bb, flop comes with two overcards and the bb checks to them?

I'd love to see how to play that hand expertly... I'm completely baffled as to how to play out that scenario, and check-folding is just way too weak.

Are the loose opponents aggressive or passive? Do you have any BD draws? Does the BB like to check/raise? Does the flop include an A? How coordinated is the board?

On a lot of 2-overcard boards if you have 3 loose opponents who will call the flop with many hands then check/folding is probably fine. Make it 1-2 opponents instead and I'm normally betting OOP.

Sometimes having to fold the flop though does not mean raising preflop isn't the most profitable play.
