Hero in BB with A 8 . Checked around 3 players in. Flop comes:

A 8 Q

Hero bets $2.00 1 fold button bets all-in $15.

I would call that 100% of the time. If he has AQ, AA, QQ, or 88, then he probably wouldn't make that play, since he'd want to maximize his profit, and he's not sure you would call.

Since there was no preflop raise, I'd eliminate AK/AQ from your opponent's possible holdings. He either has Ax (which you can beat with your two pair) or a set. When you weight it all out, I'd say it's an easy call...esp. at PP.

Thanks for the responses. I called 2 rags fell and won the pot. He was on a flush draw. Just wondering if the call was correct.

Don't be suprized if he has you beat on the flop. But yah, calling is correct. Remember, poker is not a game of being correct 100% of the time, it's about making better desisions over a long period of time. And though a desision might be good or bad in the moment, you have to ask your self, "Is this going to be a good call enough of the time to justify the pot odds?"

A lot of players like to semi-bluff raise all-in with flush draws on the flop. In the right circumstances this move can be very effective. Because of this, in general, whenever there is a two flush on the board you should be willing to call with a weaker hand when someone raises all-in.

Two other quick points. When you see a play like this be sure to make a note on this player. Second, when asking for advice on a hand, you should indicate if the board contains a two flush. If you post the ranks without suits most people will assume there is no two-flush.

Sorry about not indicating the flush. I posted this in micro limit first, then cut and pasted here not realizing the suits wouldn't show up. My bad.
