Folding AJ too much...???
I have just finished 18th in $10 R on stars, had a couple of opportunities (in hindsight)to double and triple up with AJo.Hand 1: I am one of the shortstacks with around T$30,000, 1 MP limper next MP goes allin in covering me and limper I am one off button with AJo...what do you do?
Hand 2:UTG raise by massive chip leader I have AJo 4 or 5 more players to act I now have around T$20,000 what do you do? Am I folding AJ too much when I should be gambling more with it to double and give myself a chance of winning,I really hate this hand and end up folding it in most situations....any thought or advice would be appreciated. |

Re: Folding AJ too much...???
You have to post blind sizes to get any meaningful analysis... but typically you don't want to be calling all-in's or raises at all w/ AJo.
So i'm going to say, no you didn't make a mistake folding those times. |

Re: Folding AJ too much...???
well you were a bit shorttstacked, so calling isn't totally out of line, but a fold is probably still best.
the 2nd one is the one i think i'd be most likely to push, but UTG miniraises are often pairs, but i see stupid people doing it w/ weak aces and other crap too.. so i think isolating that guy might be a good play, plus you only have 5BB's at the time and it's a rebuy so stacks are much deeper than this. the first though, i think is a good fold |

I don't think you can ever fold AJ too much.

Re: Folding AJ too much...???
turns out 1st hand i would have doubled and the 2nd got 2 more callers both allin and i would have tripled...but i guess that's poker timing is everything.....thanks for the responses
