Its really just not interesting any more. No method to matchups, I dont even know a bunch of these guys (and Im here often).

The players were ranked by seeds 1-64 from the preseason poll and then fit into a power-protected tournament bracket. This is standard tournament practice. For example, the first matchup consists of the #1 seed, El Diablo versus the #64 seed, Vince Lepore. Cheers!

Jake the Bake vs. Homer was my toughest choice. Homer with the casino tips takes it though... Jake has won me no money.

OK, here's how it's gonna go down. i will bet on this if anyone's intrested:

first bracket:

El D cruises to the elite 8 where he runs up against dynasty. very intresting matchup, as El D posts more and in more places. i give him a slight edge to make the final four, though dynasty is loking really strong after obviously CRUSHING bustersacks (who is no slouch, either)

second:

this is the most intresting bracket.
Homer is one of my favroites, and i think he SHOULD be a lock for the eliete 8, but he's gotta go through Zee. I give this one to homer. why? because of, IMO, the greatest post on 2+2- "Building a bankroll for newbies". who hasn't this post helped? probably made me like 2k. that's good enough for my vote (and it should be for yours, too) additionally, Zee's contributions are primarily in book form.
I like Lori a lot, too, esp for the internet gambling FAQ and her occaisional merciless spammer and newb crushings. (love the butterfly line in her bio, too). she's a little outclassed by homer and zee, though. IMHO, of course.

whoever comes out of the second half of that bracket will be PWN3D, though i personally like nate tha great, iceman and fsu player. (pwn3d? that's the very first time i've ever used that partiicular bit of nerdspeak. maybe the last, too. pain in the ass to type)

third bracket:

clarkmeister, boris, and patricdelpokergrande are all good posters. but they're in there with Sup Bro. he will tackle them for a loss. it's a lock, if there is anywhere in this poll. on second thought, it'll be intreting to see how far he gets being a gimmick acct. maybe clarkmeister.

The second half is a little tougher to call. it depends on how many non-ooters come over and vote. Granny Mae is a tough cookie, but she never posts in OOT. i give this to her anyway, though. i need to know the outcome of clarkmeister vs sup bro befor making a judgment on who goes to the final four. probably GM- the smileys and the old school cred go a long ways.



Final bracket:

I am least familliar with posters from this bracket. i like spicy f and all, but unless you play stud, you have no idea how badass andy B's posts are. not for entertainment value, but for poker analysis.

i think sklansky gets to the final four with ten zillion noob noses up his butt. sometimes his posts (esp in politics and psych forums) really piss me off. oh sh** did i just talk smack about D.S? yup. if one were to include his books on this poll he'd win the whole things hands down, but this is about posters. mad respect to D.S, btw.


so that's my final four:

El diablo, homer, granny mae, and D.S. I'll wait till the tourney progresses a bit to pick my winner, but i would geuss that El D takes it. he's just funnier than the other three put together. then again, NC won in the NCAA, and i had illinois going all the way. maybe i have no idea what i'm talking about? astroglide is my dark horse, by the way; i just like how the brackets line up for him.


I'll finish by saying that I generally really dislike popularity contests, but put something in brackets and i can't resist it.

Interesting....

I'm very overrated.

BicycleKick is pretty underrated but I don't think he'll be able to get past Dynasty in that bracket.
For that matter...I don't think I will either (IF we both happen to get that far).


Ed Miller is a 3 seed but Majorknog is a 23 seed. Interesting.


Schneids as a 34 seems pretty underrated too...if only for his avatar.

There are a few who I'm unfamiliar with (Iceman??).
