Default Rakebacks? How does it work

Sorry this might sound stupid to some of you, but i would just like to know how rakebacks actually work. It sounds a little too good to be true, but ever since since i've been able to track how much rake i've payed, I wouldn't mind something that cuts this margin down.

We say there's no such thing as a stupid question

Here's the short version....

Affiliates get paid by poker rooms to drive traffic to the poker rooms

This payment is in the format of a commission (anything from 20%-60%) on the rake that is contributed by the player for the life of his/her play.

Some affiliates drum up more traffic by offering to share this commission with the player. This makes them a rakeback affiliate (becuase they are giving rake back to the player)

This percentage is usually about 80-90% of what the affiliate receives. Affiliates tend to hold on to about 5% of the actual rake the player generates.

These payments are made back to the player usually direct to their poker account, either automatically by the poker room or by a manual transfer by the affiliate.

How much you get back depends on how much you rake....

I think that's about it but please feel free to contact me at RTR with more questions

regards

Jessica

Great reply, another potential sticky or part of the FAQ?
