Default sng low set play on river.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (6 handed) converter

BB (t1802)
UTG (t2695)
Hero (t2335)
CO (t1465)
Button (t3510)
SB (t1693)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises to t100, Hero calls t100, 2 folds, SB calls t75, BB calls t50.

Flop: (t400) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets t100, UTG calls t100, Hero calls t100, SB folds.

Turn: (t700) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets t100, UTG calls t100, Hero calls t100.

River: (t1000) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets t100, UTG raises to t500, Hero raises to t1500, BB folds, UTG raises to t2395, Hero calls t535 (All-In).

Final Pot: t5530

He did have JQ for the nuts on the end, but will a raise on the flop or turn have pushed him out? I nearly just called his river raise thinking that by calling the first player would call as well, putting more money in the pot for me than if i reraise, where if i get a call i am probably beat, and by reraising i am committing myself to the pot. what would you all have done here?

I raise flop 95% of the time. I raise turn 100% of the time.

You really don't want to see a river here, especially an 8 or 7.

Please raise earlier than the river.

Slowplaying here sucks. Don't do it, period.

I agree, slowplaying is bad news in this position. While this is almost a bad beat post, this still could have been prevented with a raise on the flop or at the very least on the turn.

I am not a great SNG player and have a lot to learn so I could very well be wrong, but with the amount of chips I have and the size of the blinds, I do not have to get involved in this hand so I would have folded 66 to the raise preflop.

That being said, if I had of called the raise and hit my set, I would have reraised his flop bet to about 2/3 of the pot (say about t400). If anyone is drawing to a straight, I want to give them the incorrect odds to draw. If they all fold, I am perfectly happy to add 25% to my stack.

Well, on Stars, it's so little of your stack. I think calling preflop is fine, though folding doesn't look terrible.

You may have lost anyway but you should raise the flop. If you don't you must raise on the turn. A lot of crads could come that either beat you or kill your action, you're probably ahead and they will probably pay to see the river so make them.

welcome to the forums.

I would raise to about 500 after the flop. You might take it down right there, depending on the playing style of the player holding QJ. If you get called, I would push any turn and make them pay to draw

hey thanks a lot guys, i guess it never really occured to me to raise the flop, i slow play my sets most of the time unless the flop is real scary (3flush, all connected or whatnot).

Never slowplay online or you will get drawn out on alot. I only slowplay Quads and nut flushes, or straight flushes.
