Default Hand Analysis (7 Hands), NL Tourney Help

I play mostly small buy in tourneys on Party and Pacific, with the occasional one on Stars. These are all MTTs, except for the last two which are from Stars $5 STT. It seems like hands like these are the biggest gaps in my game right now. I don't know if I need to learn to lay stuff down or read people better or what. I'm pretty confused.

I don't know if any of the rest of this helps or not, but I tend to play fairly conservatively. Just from memory, my stats have me winning about 40% of the flops that I see, and 60% of the showdowns that I get to. I'm trying to play a close approximation of the style in HOH 1&2. I don't know much else; I'm pretty much a noob, only been at this for about 9 months. I do alright on average, been at a couple of final tables at the $2 PP, and at the $5 and $2.50, Pacific, won the $2.50 last week.

Thanks for the help,
Will

P.S. Sorry about not using the converter on the Party hands, I tried several times to get it to work with no luck.

Default Re: Hand Analysis (7 Hands), NL Tourney Help

Hand 1: You have top pair terrible kicker on the flop. If you want to find out where you are I'd advise a check raise rather than a lead bet which any ace or king might call, where-as a check raise will likely take any king out.
When the king falls you are either splitting the pot with another ace or way behind any king, why are you betting? You should not be losing your stack with A4.

Hand 2: I wouldn't raise pre flop with AJ after a limper. That is a horribly co-ordinated flop, 78, 9T, TJ, QK are all possible holdings for him that beat you, and you could be racing against a flush draw. His reraise on the flop shows you he is not scared of top pair, you need to let it go.

Hand 3: JT suited is not a raising hand pre-flop when you are so shallowly stacked. After the flop you are going bust with this hand, no getting away from it.

Hand 4: Calling an all-in with A8 is atrocious, am sure you relaise that.

Hand 5: calling a pre-flop raise with Q4o is atrocious.

Hand 6: I would check/call the river given he has called you twice on a drawless board, and call any bet from him.

Hand 7: Don't call a pre-flop raise with 66.

I suggest you read Harrington on Hold'Em urgently.

Default Re: Hand Analysis (7 Hands), NL Tourney Help

For future referencee, try and post 1 maybe 2 hands at a time, 7 is a ton. But here goes.

Hand 1) i dont really like completing.. raise and try and take it now, or fold.

Hand 2) Sucky flop for you, tough break.

Hand 3) Another suck flop for you.

Hand 4) Don't like the call PF... i think again raise to take it now or fold.

Hand 5) Fold PF

Hand 6) Sucky flop for you again... but check-call the river instead of betting out.. try and induce a bluff from a possible club draw. (or not lose all your chips to a hand like that)

Hand 7) Fine w/ the PF and flop action.. maybe(?) fold to the min raise.. dunno..
