Default guaranteed cash prizes

i was reading on pokertips.org about internet promotions and came across something interesting. if a site guarantees a certain prize pool, say, 250K, a 1000K buy in, if there aren't at least 250 players then the site makes up the difference. well what if 5 players entered? would that mean that the site would cough up 245K? surely not, right? can they just cancel a tourney? does it say the minimum entrants for these tourneys?
just wondering

typically all tournaments have a minimum number of entrants required...although it is typically pretty low (3-10). However, most sites have become saavy enough to not have to make huge overlays. They put the bigger gaurantees at primetime, and have larger buy-ins on the late at night/early morning ones. Getting harder these days to find great overlays..but still qutie a few good ones out there. Just look at Bodog. There 100k tourney had HUGE overlays at first, but once word got out...its just a regular 100k tourn now.

No one will spoon feed you the information, as once it is out there, the opportunity will be ruined.
