Theory of Poker helped me a lot. Some say SSH has as well.

Improve Your Poker has a good nl section, don't know if that is what you are looking for.

That's a good one as well, I think he was looking for books not specifically aimed at NL that have principles that translate well to NL.

I would definitely recommend Improve Your Poker as well.

In fact, I just read Ed Miller's NL Section in "Getting Started in Hold 'Em" (which is a fantastic book btw) and he recommends Harrington on Hold 'Em Volume I, Ciaffone and Reuben's NL/PL Poker and Improve Your Poker specifically for NL cash games.

I figured that was not exactly what he is looking for but from the title you wouldn't know it was a good nl book so I thought I would throw it out.

It is short, so don't expect to be an expert. However, it does accomplish exactly what it is intended to do and that is give someone who may not have played NL the tools to get started. In fact, I've been mainly a Limit cash game player and NL tourney player. I am taking what I have learned from this section and beginning to play NL cash games. Again, supplement this with the list above for NL cash games and David's NL book due out this summer and I think you'll have a great NL cash game reading base.

Since you mentioned the zen book you need to try out "Psychology of Poker". It will help your game from the inside out.

I found "Inside the Poker Mind" to be a very influential book when it came to my NL game.

I know you asked for non nlhe books and the suggestions in this thread are all good ones, but if you have not read PL&NL Poker by Ciaffone and Reuben, it is on the must read list.
