Default Am I a payoff machine?

I feel like my play has been less than optimal lately and I think that hands like these are the primary leaks in my game. Do I just pay off too much with good 2nd best hands and when I get outdrawn?

I think I just call his check re-raise there in hand 1. Flush got there, board paired, and he check re-raised you on the river. Hand 2 looks fine.

Okay, I've only read hand one so far, but WTF are you re-raising for there on the river?????

Okay, hand two looks pretty straight forward. I probably would've bet more on the turn, because that's what I'd do with AA, but either way, it's going in on the river.

Back to hand one. This plays a lot easier if you pot the flop. Then you just 3/4 pot the turn if he's still around (or push if he leads) and the river is an easy push no matter what falls. If he's there with a flush draw to suckout, just collect your sklansky bucks & move on.

Whoops, I just realized that there were a few problems with the HHs. In hand one, I only had like $3 left after calling the river check/raise, so I just figured "eh, if I pay off for $3, it's better than leaving $3 on the table if I'm ahead." In hand 2, villain check/raised all-in for like an additional $10 on the turn.

They're both fine.

Only problem is hand two, why bet $7 when he could be chasing a flush? You bet less than the amount required for him to draw ($7 into $26 pot, he has to call $7 for $33). You're actually giving up a portion of the pot for free.

Do you see why?

The reason for the $7 bet was hat he only had like $15 left in his stack, and I figured that a $7 bet would a)represent weakness so that an aggressive player might try to raise as a semibluff to push me off of my hand and b) pot commit him so that even if his draw missed, he might still pay me off with a wide range of hands.

Fair enough, but...
a) he's not bluffing you for another $7 with two kings on the board
b) a fold here is more +EV than a $7 call if he has a flush draw, which is fairly likely. And is he really calling a missed flush?

If you push it in now, I think he'll call a flush draw, or a weak king. It's all about Sklansky bucks.

Not a big deal anyway, just thought it worth mentioning.
