Default Third hand of tournament... KK

I've still got plenty left to play with on the river ace. Do I check and fold or make a bet? No read, as it is too early in the tournament. He just called down. I would think a pocket pair over 9 would have raised preflop or at SOME point before the river. I'm really handcuffed here, as I have no read and it is too early in the tournament to give all my chips away to a calling station that may have just hit the river.

As for playing the hand... I under bet the pot on the flop in the hope that he would reraise me with a pocket pair and call with a big ace. I'm assuming a big ace, so I bet enough so he can't call the turn... but he just calls again. River ace, urgh... Please tell me what I should have done...

prolly 150

if he has an ace hes obviously going to raise whatever you bet or bet if you check. he could also have a set.

I probably just push and hope. or check/fold as betting again here would cripple you.

Early in a tourney players call raises with all sorts of goofy hands, ie. suited connectors, Axs, and small pocket
pairs. With this flop you may have been drawing pretty
close to dead from the flop. I would make a small bet on the river and if I am reraised all in probably fold.

I don't think he has an ace. You are leading most of the hands he's calling with on the turn here. I think one of two things happened here: 1. He put you on AK or AQ and decided to check-call you down with a small PP to induce a bluff. or 2. He has 88, 68s, 78s, 98s, or T8s. Sets are also possible, but I think most opponents would raise the turn with their set on this board, so it's not as likely as the hands I just put him on.
I would bet a small amount here, like 100 or 150, for value, not as a blocking bet. I think that river ace made him want to fold. Could be way off though. Results?

its pretty easy to make hero for a big pair, Maybe even kings, given the PF, ATF, and turn bet.

In order for villain to call the turn (40% of his remaining chips) the 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] must have helped him. If we assume villain doesn't have a made hand then I think he must have 2 diamonds to call the turn and an 8 to call the flop bet. I think a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] is a real possibility as are 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

If he does not have the ace then he will call only the smallest bet.
