I've never played in a casino, but I'd like to give it a try when I'm back home for the summer. If I play a lot of 3/6 online, and am under 21, which place would be recommended? I'd be willing to drive between an hour or two from Redmond to get there. Smoking isn't a big issue, but the less the better. Thanks in advance.

I'm sitting at the Internet Cafe in the Convention Center now. I looked up the Muckleshoot -- 31 miles away from the hotel. With cab fare being $2 per mile (and $2.50 to drop the timer when you get in) I definitely gotta hook up with stabn to get a ride.

Anyone else want to go? Diamond Lil's looks closer, but still a jaunt down the highway.

I am hoping to get out tonight for some cards. I was hoping to play the 3/6 at the Muck, but I don't really have any idea about traffic and when it would be possible to get there. I do have my truck and could carry one extra person if you are interested. Lil's is a bit closer but I'm debating whether I am ready for 4/8...

I am attending the DrvDevCon side of things (at the Sheraton) but should be able to check this site periodically. PM me or respond here if you want to hook up. Anyone have suggestions on when it makes sense to leave for these places? Would it be wiser to grab dinner downtown and then head out after traffic is reduced somewhat?

Traffic is much better after 6:30-7, but the list is going to be a bit longer when you do get there. It may be worth it if you go to the muck though, since traffic on 167 south can be really bad. For a little bit closer 3-6 there's the silver dollar location off of 167 (take the first exit off of 167 south and turn right at the stoplight. Drive 1-2 miles and you will see it on your right). The silver dollar only has five or six tables, but they spread 3/6, 4/8 and sometimes 6/12.

They should still be running the $100 buy in tourney at the Muck tomorrow night. I've been dying to get out there and take a swing at it again (since I placed 3 out of the money last time on a ridiculous hand...villain: A8off vs. my pocket 8's and he catches the runner runner flush...you guessed it, 8 high...)

I live in Wallingford and sometimes I'm out in Issaquah with my girlfriend, but if anyone would like to try out that tournament, send me a PM and I would be happy to drive. I work in Redmond though, so let me know ASAP. I believe it starts at 7 pm, and I typically like to get in a few hands of 4/8 before the tourney. (Try to be there by 5:30/6).

Thanks for the details, stabn. The last few conference sessions today don't seem to be related to my end of things, so I may head out early and check out the Silver Dollar you mentioned. I can always move on down to the Muck if I'm up for it.

All the tournaments at the Muck are cancelled this week due to the 10th aniverssary thing. They were cancelled last week too, because of the big giveaway. I'm really jonesing for a tourney too, and my only real alternative is to go to Tulalip *shudder*

The tuesday 100+10 just about sells out these days. Typically 75+. I haven't played the monday/wednesday since they redesigned them a while back. Thursday is another decent one if you want a bit smaller price. 40+5 with 20 dollar rebuys the first hour. It sells out every week though, so you haev to get there a bit earlier (say 5:45 to get in the signup line), or, 4:35ish to get in a live game before they come around to the tables for signups. The advantage of the live game is that you insure a spot in the tournament, if you are in line there's always a chance it will sell out if you aren't in the first 10-15 people in line.
