This book is for higher limits, probably 10/20 and up; but the content in it is highly useful for holdem in general as well. I believe all holdem players should read this book, any good player you are playing against will have already devoured it.

I know this isn't the answer you really want... but its applicable once your opponents don't suck really hard. The limit at which that is going to occur on average will be different from city to city for casino play and could be anything for home games.

so its ok to combine what you read in SSH and HPFAP?

or when you starting reading HPFAP, to forget about SSH?

or best to wait until you reach that limit 10/20?

i am a newbie that plays low limit holdem and reading SSH

There are definatly some parts of HPFAP that I have found beneficial in some situations in smaller games, however, I think it would be 10x more helpful for you to get the SSH concepts down first.

I would say read SSH, TOP and HPFAP. Read each book and between SSH and HPFAP note the differences in what they are saying in the given situation, get a fuller understanding of what is in those books and then u will be able to change gears depending on the opponents u come across.

Say u happen to be at a table and there is 5 bad low limit players and 2-3 good players who for whatever reason are sitting at your table, u should at that point be able to at least pin them down somewhat to how they play and how good or bad they are -- and if u read those books and understand them, and have thought about the concepts on your own, away from the game, u should do alright. The more info the better. Just note the differences for each game and the nuances and u will be good to go.

And if u can get to a point where it can be said u have a good understanding of TOP it will only reinforce your game. If we are just talking limit, and u have those 3 books under your belt, and u know what u are doing, u will be alot better of than most.

although intended for higher limits (where people are capable of laydowns), I found this book to be very useful to me as my first book on poker, even though I started at the lowest limits. A lot of the concepts on there are universal.
