Default jaxup\'s unnamed challenge.

Not only is it unnamed, but it doesn't exist yet. I am feeling a bit bored with my poker situation right now. Currently, I 3-4 table a mix of 5/10 6max and full. I play about 30k hands a month on a very wide mix of sites (absolute, pokerroom+skins, crypto, party, stars, and some smaller ones). I would prefer to stick to limit holdem, and to not play below .5/1 for any part of the challenge, and assume BR is not any sort of an issue. I don't really care if I learn anything from it. It may be BB or $$ oriented. It must be:

a) challenging
b) potentially financially rewarding

Does anybody have a good idea about this? I will, of course, post regular updates in this thread once the challenge has been decided.

Also, please try to be specific as to the steps to obtain the goal of the challenge.

Why are you willing to slum with us micros as low as .5/1 when you regularly play 5/10?

The only reason I ever got to this level was from the advice in this forum. Also, I enjoy the posters here, and like to try and help out other new players when I can. Micros rule.

And you can't go below .5/1? If you could I'd say do the "Jesus challenge" and start with 1 dollar, building it up to 20 grand in 6 months. I just want to see if it can be done.

I believe Clayton started this a while ago. Just start with 100BB at .5/1 or whichever level you choose and move up when you hit 100BB for the next level.

See how far you can go in a month or two.

This sounds like fun. What do I do if I lose some? Do I move back down?

I think the challenge is to start with 50bb and move up when you hit 50 bb for the next level. Keep moving up unless you drop back down to 50bb for a lower level. Then take a step back.

ok, I'm going to split the difference. I am starting with $75 on a site to be determined. I will play .5/1 until I get to $150, then 1/2 until $300, etc.

.5/1 -> 1/2 -> 2/4 -> 3/6 -> 5/10 -> 10/20 -> 15/30 -> and on we go

How high do you guys think I can get by Christmas? I won't be doing this challenge exclusively....just part time. I think 20/40. That will mean I made a profit of $2900 which would be very nice. For this challenge, I will only be playing at full tables to minimize variance, and I may not stay at the same site the entire time.
