forgive me if this has been covered before, but will the winner of the NL West be, like, the worst team to ever make the playoffs? anybody realize that the giants of all teams are still "in" it?

every team in the nl east has a better record than 1st place san diego.

This is correct, but if the 1994 strike hadn't hit, it wouldn't be. The 4 worst records in the AL that year? The entire AL West.

I'm a big Giants fan, and they are not in it..."in" in quotes or otherwise.
