These are not "really likes". These are MUST HAVES:

Lawrence of Arabia
Godfather 1
The Good The Bad and The Ugly
Gunga Din
The Big Sleep
North by Northwest,Vertigo, or Rebecca (just about any major Hitchcock will do)
The Unforgiven
The Guns of Navarone
Any of the Universal Horror. Take your pick: The Wolfman, The Frankenstein Series, The Mummy, etc...Whichever you prefer.
Star Wars Episodes 4 & 5

The following are newer films that I feel would be great additions to any DVD Collection:

Sea of Love
Bull Durham
In The Line Of Fire
A Few Good Men
Master and Commander
L.A. Confidential
Open Range
Ronin
Tombstone
Miller's Crossing

This list is by no means comprehensive. Just some that came to mind. BUT, imho, the films in the first list are all must haves.

Including this without Godfather II is almost as bad as including Godfather III.

I'm not a big movie collector but people with Boondock Saints in their movie collections get bonus points in my book.

You've got to have a top Hitchcock or two, but I'd feel comfortable leaving out Rebecca.

The Unforgiven is not terribly rewatchable, to me anyway.

Star Wars 4 & 5 are so far from must haves it kind of invalidates your reliability a bit.

Ronin doesn't enhance it, nor does Master and Commander.

Overall though, there are some very solid movies here and these are good choices.
