From tvguide.com if you search for poker this comes up next Thursday:

The $1m Fulltiltpoker.net Invitational, a Texas Hold'em even in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The elite seven-man field features Phil Hellmuth, Gus Hansen, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Dave Ulliot, Phil Ivey and Mike Matusow. Analyst: Howard Lederer, Announcer: Barry Tompkins Starting at 6pm ET on FSN

[/ QUOTE ]

Seems like some of them are invited partly for interesting personalities.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would you say that? They are all one of the top 20 players in the world.

[/ QUOTE ]

Top Twenty NL HE Tournament Players, yes. Top 20 Poker players? Not all of them.

This event is a NL HE tournament. Not a mixed cash game.

Hey I just wanted to point it out before Barry Greenstein and David Sklansky burst into your house and power bombed you through your coffee table while telling you exactly why tournament players are donkeys in cash games.

This will be excellent watching, although like everything else on earth, it needs more Ted Forrest.

Yes, it should be awesome. I just hope someone captures it makes a torrent of it, since I don't get FSN anymore. I'd hate to miss this.

hold on, so the winner of the consolation gets a seat at the final table of the 10k event?

[/ QUOTE ]

Correct, the consolation tournament consists only of those players eliminated from the Millions tournament, which is a 25k buyin and a max of 120 players. The conso tournament starts at 3pm local time on the 22nd.

[/ QUOTE ]

OK. That is pretty cool.

Here are some details from foxsports.com ... http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5086068

It seems each player is putting up $120K and Full Tilt is adding the remaining $180K to make it an even million. Top three pay out and they will air it live throughout on East Coast. Sorry if any of this is repeat info.
