[ QUOTE ]
Not raising quads is generally a leak. Come on. Whenever I play live, the guy who says "no more hearts!" wants a heart. The guy who says "don't pair the board!" wants to pair the board.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, I see your point. I see this a lot from some players. Unfortunately from this player I believe him. We play a crapload of O8 together, and he's developed this habit of asking for the board to be paired, not be paired, not heart, no low, etc. It's a bad habit, but it's not a terrible habit in O8. He's carried this over into hold'em. When he asked that the board not pair on the flop, I was 100% certain that he held AK and believed I probably had a set.

[ QUOTE ]
If he was so scared of the board pairing, why did he bet the turn when it did? If he had AK and was that terrified of a boat, he'd check-call down once the J hit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would you check-call? Or would you bet-call, even if you feared a boat? Personally I'd bet-call. Maybe I'm dumb.

[ QUOTE ]
I could see you just calling a 3-bet because of the possible royal, but just calling the first bet? I don't get it.

[/ QUOTE ]

When he bet the river I got a sick feeling in my gut. I really, really, really wanted to flat call, because the only hand he could possibly have would be AK [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. But then I thought, if he had that and put me on a boat, why wouldn't he check-raise the river? Besides, me have quads I raise. I raise, he 3-bets, I crap myself and call, he shows the royal, I cry like a bitch.

[ QUOTE ]
Also, what casino spreads 11-handed games???

[/ QUOTE ]

An illegal card room in North Carolina.

Raise and its not close. I'd call once he 5-bets you, and hope there is a jackpot.

I am probably missing something here... But I can't see how you can put him on exactly AK of spades. If you want to call here and are sure that he has A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] why wouldn't you just fold. Save some money.

Alul, you fold quads often? Especially when only a rivered Royal beats you?

There's a world of difference between folding here and calling/raising.

Not really, I actually raise with them. That's what I think you should do in this hand. (I thought it was clear in my post).

his point was more that if the OP is 100% sure the other guy has the royal, as he seems to be, he might as well fold. if hes not, which he isnt, and shouldnt be, he should go at least 3 or 4 bets here in my mind. the op's earlier post that this is bad advice and would have lost 3 or 4 bets is insanely stupid and results oriented.

WTF is wrong with you people?

I said going TWELVE BETS was bad advice, not 3 or 4.

The only people who are "insanely stupid" in this thread are those who apparently cannot read for comprehension.
