Can you use computers well? Programming and/or tutoring are viable options.

I used to be interested in C++, but I eventually quit once I got to complex data arrays. I think it'd be a lot easier to go back to it now, because I was learning that stuff when I was 13 or so. What kinds of jobs would I be able to get in programming?

Honestly, you're not getting a programming job, given your lack of experience, education, and maturity. Go with caddying or waiting tables, and study computer science in college. IMHO.

Probably more honest and realistic, but I thought I'd give it a shot. You do need to be older to convince a client that you're worth the money. Caddying would be my pick.

Yeah, I knew that trying to get a job in programming would be unrealistic. I was more asking if there was something that I would be able to get with a company that I could eventually build up to getting something in programming.
Caddying sounds pretty cool, I'll look around for that. Maybe being a stockboy too.
Thanks guys for some serious answers.

Although your home casino idea didn't play out, you seem to have the entrepreneurial spirit. Maybe you could try thinking of something online you could start doing. Ebay or something. Online nobody knows or cares how old you are as long as they get what they pay for.

First of all, thanks for your casino post.

Obviously you like poker, and you have the entrepreneurial spirit. If you have any interest in woodworking or crafts you might think about a business of building custom poker tables. There are a number of good sites that teach you step by step how to do it.
It sounds like a lot of your friends are pretty well off so you might have a good potential market already.
It's not steady money, but if you do a bang up job you can make a pretty decent amt per table. (expect to make a few before you get to this skill level tho)

I keep hearing about caddying in OOT posts. I wonder if many of you play golf at all. There is a huge push in golf at all levels of clubs to move to cart only. They are looking to maximize profits by speeding up the game. This has been going on for a long while and even the ultra -exclusive clubs are doint it. Golf on TV will be the only caddying soon.

We're not telling him to make caddying his career for the rest of his life. He's a young guy who needs a job right now, and caddying is perfect for his situation.

This is simply wrong. Just because most clubs want to use carts only to increase profits, doesn't mean the golfers want to use carts only.
