So what you're trying to say is "do you think there should be a forward motion rule?"

Not really. I only play live 3-4 times a year so I was wondering if there was a rule against posting the original bet and then going back to get your raise together if you announce "I raise" prior to to taking any action/making any motion.

I never really thought that this was a problem, but when 3 floors get involved it got my attention. There was no argument over forward motion as LAG did clearly announce his intention before making a move.

As far as I know once you state a raise you can throw out the call, think about how much you want to raise, then go back and make your raise in one motion without ever stating the amount.

This is correct but it seems that usually the experienced deep stack players are the only ones that know this.

I have never seen a player object to it, regardless of experience level. I have seen a problem where a player didn't hear the raiser announce his raise first.
