Re: Is Ben Roethlisberger the most overrated QB in the league?
[ QUOTE ]
Yes. [/ QUOTE ] Please. He's averaging 9.3 Yards/Attempt for the first 18 games of his career--a time when many hall of fame quarterbacks struggled immensely. Some career Y/A numbers for HOF QBs: Baugh-7.3 Graham-8.6 Montana-7.5 Starr-7.8 Staubuch 7.7 Unitas-7.8 Graham had two seasons at 9.3 Y/A or greater. Starr, Unitas had 1. Baugh, Montana and Staubach had none--though each came close. I'm not saying he's a hall of famer, but his success this far has been other worldly and saying he's overrated is completely retarded. |

Re: Is Ben Roethlisberger the most overrated QB in the league?
nobody knows how good he is.
The Steelers win with a great ground game and a great defense. Roethlisberger threw what, like 11 passes in game 1 this year? That said, he is big, moves well, and has a good arm. whether or not he is a great QB is unknown. so, as of now, he is probably overrated...but not as much as Vick is. |

Re: Is Ben Roethlisberger the most overrated QB in the league?
[ QUOTE ]
what exactly is overrated about him? [/ QUOTE ] The fact that he does nothing special, but as we all know "OMG he is 17-2 as a starter. 17-2!!!" Who cares. An average quarterback can win 17 games behind a great defense and an offense that requires you to hand the ball off and throw short passes. |

Re: Is Ben Roethlisberger the most overrated QB in the league?
Insert Tommy Maddox into the QB spot and look how badly the Steelers look against the Jaguars. That just shows it takes an above average QB to win games for the Steelers. Im not suggesting Tommy Maddox was an above average QB but he was suppose to be a couple years ago.

Re: Is Ben Roethlisberger the most overrated QB in the league?
sure, people mention his record, but I have never heard or seen any (real) sports fan go nuts over him as you seem to think everyone does (and I live in western PA). Everyone here is pretty well adjusted to the fact that he runs our offense very well, but, at least right now, hasn't done much to be compared to Joe or Dan (A couple other Pittsburgh favorites)
And just a point, I would consider Tommy Maddox an "average" quarterback.. look how he handled it.. |

No because Brett Favre is.
