Default Do they spread Stud8 anywhere in AC?

Other than the 2-way at the Taj, anyone know if they spread Stud8 in AC? How regularly?

I was at the Trop in December and there was a good $15/30/45 stud/8 game.

I played in the 15/30/45 game at the Trop last month. It does not go off every day. I played it on a Friday morning. Depends when the regulars feel like. Call ahead if you plan on playing.

The 10/20 2-way game at the Taj now goes every day. Great alternative.

I'm convinced stud/8 just won't go at limits below 20/40 or so. Stud/8 is a split pot game that often features head up or three-way pots. When a heads up pot gets split at 3/6, the rake will often take all the possible profit and then some. This obviously discourages even the most collection/rake oblivious.

Although Omaha/8 is also a split pot game, the urge to see the flop (at lower limits) is so great that there is sufficient action to avoid the above dilemma.

Note that I have seen very small (1-3 spread limit) stud/8 at Indian casinos. My guess is the games at this limit are so small that tight players just aren't interested.

Has anyone told the management at the Taj about Kem cards yet?

How good is this game? How many players at a given time would you say are proficient at both games? How many are proficient at one, but not the other? I am very interested in playing (I've only played stud/8 a few times but I've made a substantial profit each time, and I feel like I'm making good decisions. I would love a chance to play more and try to improve my game. My Omaha/8 is solid without being spectacular, so I'll just grind that half of it.

Overall its usually a soft loose passive game. I play in it whenever I can.

There are usually 2-3 sharks, 4-5 loose passive players, with usually 1 rock tossed in.

You'll be fine with the Stud8 as long as you make basic good decisions.

NJ Chick, a full table runs everyday?

From what I have heard from others the game goes every day. I know it used to be just a weekend thing. I have played with a few guys from the 15/30/45 Stud8 game at the Trop who have migrated over to the Taj from time to time. Might be the reason the game runs more frequently.

You are correct. Its a pretty loose passive game. I know pretty much who to stay away from and who's going to light their money on fire. And yeah throw in the token rock!

Great game overall. I play it exclusively now when I play at the Taj. I've convinced others to play in it as well and they have had terrific results. Much better than the 5/10 O8 game imho.

All this talk about the 2 way game got me itching to go down.

Was there on Friday night. Played from 6pm to 8am. Went all night, but it was 5 handed for a few hours at some point in the wee hours.

Great fun game as usual.

The regs now recognize me and gave me the nickname Diesel. If anyone is ever playing with 'Diesel' give me one of those 2+2 code phrases of "Sup Bro"...
