Dead Flowers, though the others get honorable mentions. My mood must always suck.

actually, I've got the early demos he did back in 66 - some of those songs are pretty good too - I think waiting aroudn to die was his first serious song he did for an album, but some of those demos/early yrs. songs were good too -

I really liked that album...never sounded younger or more fulla spit and vinegar....sorta of a hippie vibe to some of the songs too - the 1966 influence.

I will go with: No Place to Fall

My favorite one with gambling is content is
Rex's Blues
(If I had a nickle I'd find a game
If I won a dollar I'd make it rain
If it rained an ocean I'd drink it dry
Lay me down dissatisfied.... )

close are:

Tecumseh Valley
For the Sake of the Song

Maybe more useful then this is that the best CD is
Live At the Old Quarter ( if you can get it )
There are a lot of fairly junky studio releases but Live
has almost everything you want done in great atmosphere at
the time his voice was best.

Pancho & Lefty

The rest of the Top Five (not in order):
For the Sake of the Song
To Live Is to Fly
No Place to Fall
Tecumseh Valley
