actually, I've got the early demos he did back in 66 - some of those songs are pretty good too - I think waiting aroudn to die was his first serious song he did for an album, but some of those demos/early yrs. songs were good too -
I really liked that album...never sounded younger or more fulla spit and vinegar....sorta of a hippie vibe to some of the songs too - the 1966 influence. RB |

My favorite one with gambling is content is Rex's Blues (If I had a nickle I'd find a game If I won a dollar I'd make it rain If it rained an ocean I'd drink it dry Lay me down dissatisfied.... ) close are: Tecumseh Valley For the Sake of the Song Maybe more useful then this is that the best CD is Live At the Old Quarter ( if you can get it ) There are a lot of fairly junky studio releases but Live has almost everything you want done in great atmosphere at the time his voice was best. D. |
