Default Does a TOC win count as a WSOP bracelet?

I am just curious if Hellmuth wins will it be his tenth bracelet tying Brunson and Chan?

Yes, it counts as a WSOP bracelet. In fact, other than the ME bracelet, it counts as the most prestigious of all WSOP bracelets because it essentially means a champion beat all other champions.

If Hellmuth wins, he will rise above both Brunson and Chan as the greatest tournament player of all-time.

I'm sure you're going to get alot of disagreement with this statement. But I actually agree with you. This Tournament of Champions is that prestigious enough to put him over the top.

It also pays much more than Brunson or Chan did when they got their tenth bracelets. Hellmuth will rise above the rest of the poker greats once again.

The only disagreement I have with Chris' statement is that it is factually incorrect. I am pretty certain that a WSOP bracelet is NOT being awarded to the winner of the TOC, meaning that if Hellmuth wins, he will still have 9 WSOP bracelets, not 10. Annie Duke did not win a bracelet for her victory in the TOC last year.

It's not that prestigious.

The TOC qualifiers this year don't really represent the cream of poker's crop, just the top 20 finishers from a handful of smallish-field tournaments.

Anyone who thinks winning x poker tournament, or acquiting y bracelets, or that having z lifetime cashes is the defining acheivement in his quest to be considered "the best poker player ever" has his head way up his ass.

Besides, Phil won't win.
