Default IHC hand...

OK...probably not overly interesting but I have to post one and I didn't seem to have many difficult decisions last night so here's mine:

MP1 from what I remember...25/12/2.5 or so with fairly low went to showdown percentage...400+ hands.
BB...29/4/1.3 or so and liked to bet draws on flop regardless of position/relative position.
MP2...loose/passive

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 raises, MP2 calls, Hero calls, 3 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets, MP2 folds, Hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero raises...

Looks okay. You either have the best draw or the best hand often enough to make a play for a free showdown on the turn.

Are you folding the flop if MP2 overcalls? Do you give up on the turn raise if BB calls the flop bet (and checks to MP2 on the turn)?

i don't understand why you thought this line was best.

you picked up a gutshot and you may or may not have a flush draw. that all goes to waste if you get 3-bet on the turn.

why not just call and see the river and re-evaluate from there?

I struggle with these kind of hands and usually lay down if the pot is small...

My thinking is: If they have a Queen I am getting called and if they have a diamond, I am getting called (and am likely not going to win if the 4th diamond appears). Does this play try to achieve a check/check on the river? Are you hoping he missed the flop and has no diamond? Please explain as I think I am losing money on these kinds of hands.

We want to showdown because villain won't have a better pair a good amount of the times.

I think being heads up made this one less interesting. I would have probably let it go otherwise if bet into again on the turn although if just BB called I think the play still has merit.

Obviously I'm hoping I do in fact have the best hand and I think there's a reasonable chance of that. If I am in fact beat I have a pretty strong draw. A 3-bet here is very unlikely IMO and usually means something better than top pair or an overpair.

I fold the flop -- this looks like a textbook case of reverse-implied odds to me.

But were likely to be HU on the turn since BB likes to bet with draws.
