Only 1 woman left --- anyone know anything about her?

didn't think we'd be down to 1 woman with over 70 left but we are. Too bad, i was actually hoping that more woman would make it far to start getting more woman into the game.

Although it seems she has one of the top stacks left, which is good.

Anyways, i do hope she goes very far, which would be good for the game.

And hey, if she looks good on camera too, that would be a further boost.

Personally, I view this as one of the most uninteresting topics of poker discussion as of late. I'm not rooting for women to fail, of course, but then again I really don't care how the blue-eyed poker players do as a group either.

How about the best poker player of the 70 remaining winning the championship? That seems to me a much better result to root for than whether or not the champion-to-be happens to have a vagina.

Besides, if you're interested in that, Jennifer Tilly already demonstrated that a female non-pro can win a WSOP bracelet. All you have to do is date Phil Laak.

Seeing as she doesn't appear in the Hendon Mob list, it is unlikely she has ever cashed in any even half-way significant live tourney. Ever.

This comparison is a little silly don't you think? Tilly won a woman's event. Williamson winning the ME would be huge for poker.

The effect it could have may be more over this side of the pond, a lot of woman play in the UK but generally only online as casinos over here have a much more shady image than in the states.

Gutshot being a card club gets quite a few younger woman in as it tends to be frequented by London professional types and is percieved as a step up from the casinos to some being a members club/bar.

Where Gutshot and some of the other companes over here (VC recently held an event for journalists only) have been successful has being getting various lifestlye journalists involved in the game in magazines and newspaper supplements, if she does very well (ie earns a million or more from her £10 stake) I think it could give the UK live scene a big boost as some of the internet woman get confidance from her win and start coming out to play, particulary as the more mainstream woman focused press report on it.

Gutshot is going to get good publicity as well, they are already looking at expanding as they cant cope with the high numbers on some of the nights they run.

Its interesting all the haters on here already surely she is living the dream we all hope for, the majority here are small stakes players, her story is exactly what keeps the WSOP dreams going for many, anyone on their day can go deep in the WSOP, why the hell so many here are down on that is way beyond me, seems a bit of poker snobbery.
