Default WPT or WSOPC in Tunica - which of the $500 events would be better?

I'm planing to visit Tunica during WPT and WSOPC. Depending on how I feel I think about playing one of the $500 Buy-In Events. As I play only one event (except I win big there ) I'm still unsure wich one is better.

Due to my schedule I can play either the WSOPC Shootout on Monday 16th or I can play one of the WPT 7:15pm events.
As I think both may have good players it shouldn't make much difference about how "easy" it is to get into the money so the main points should be:

1) Better structure / payout table
2) If I don't make it to the money I want to get at least good "entertainment" for my money. So which is the nicer location, more fun to play?

Don't flame me for asking that silly questions. Usually WPT & WSOPC are far away for me (coming from Europe). I'm lucky to be in that area at the right time so I would just take the opportunity and try to make the best of it.

Thanks folks!

Play to your strengths. If you're a solid SNG/short-handed player, I would think the Shootout would be the way to go. If you find yourself more comfortable with a full ring game/early to middle stages of MTTs, then I'd go with the nightly 7:15.

I'd only recommend the Shootout event if you were a strong SNG/shorthanded player.

Either way, though, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic experience with whatever one you choose. Have fun, and good luck.

That's a good point! I play mainly B&M for cash games but play a lot of SnG's online. I think I go with the Shootout ... and yes, I will have fun regardless of the result

I wish I could help. This is the first year that this is going on... But I ,like most I hear, like The Shoe better.

I hope you have your room already.

Yes, no problem with the room so far. The week before the main event(s) seems to have normal prices. Think the weekend of the main event(s) could be different but unfortunatly I have to leave on Friday for my conference.
Stay at the Shoe ($39 / night) and plan to play there for cash games and the Thursday tourney (if they run it that week) as everybody is telling me that the shoe is the nicest place to play.

Not that it's much of a difference but Laura at the Shoe told me the poker rate for the month of January is 49. I made the reservation for the 7th of January and it was 419.

Obviously I'll get it changed to the poker rate.
